Why The World Needs You To Work

I

run the risk of sounding like a broken record but I will say it again. We as a human race are closely identified with one mission on earth, and that is to work.

There could be no other greater purpose for mankind than to work. The other things that we garner for are supposed to be the side effects, or in the sideshows of work.

Fulfilment

When we are looking for security, comfort, exotic lives and prestige, we realize that these are secondary to our mandate as humans. Our primary mandate is work.

If we were to be fulfilled as I have already discussed in an earlier post, security, comfort, cozy lifestyles and prestige will not be what will bring the fulfilment. Work is the conduit through which our ultimate fulfilment comes.

No One is Exempt

In talking about work, we need to make a clear statement here. There is no human being that is exempt from working. In fact, if you ever looked for privileges in this life, let those privileges never rob you of the opportunity to exert your mind, intellect, body and spirit in some form of work.

All of us are called to work for the sole purpose of making a unique contribution on the face of the earth. In the previous article, we talked about each individual having a calling or a purpose from which they get ultimate fulfilment. That calling or purpose is deployed through work.

Making things happen

Something further than just finding fulfilment though, we need to realize that the fulfilment is not just the result of working. It is the result of seeing your work create a positive impact on the face of the earth.

That is why everyone’s effort is important. You cannot measure your efforts on the scale of what Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are doing and then get discouraged by it. Your work goes a mighty long way in creating influence and an impact where you are, and that is why you are needed to work.

It is Hellen Keller who so powerfully stated that,

“The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker”

Getting Started

One must notice though that the big and mighty in society did not necessarily start that huge. Their work metamorphosed over time to become as humongous as it looks today.

One of the critical things that we need to realize in life is that when you start working, you will probably not have all the information, all the networks, and all the wisdom that is needed in order to deploy your work on a global scale.

This also does not mean that the work you are starting with is useless. As you grow in this life, you will be needed at different scales and different levels. You will only become relevant at each level to the degree that you have deployed your work faithfully to grow in stature thus.

Your Work Is Needed!

Therefore, whoever tiny your push for work is seemingly, this world still needs it. This world is moved, made to progress and develop by the efforts of each worker. When you are at your computer cracking your head over an article or a speech that ought to be delivered, I want you to remember that that work is as important as anyone else’s.

The world has given you that opportunity to expend your energy so that through your work, change would be effected one way or another and the world would be turned into a better place. Change can come through your work to impact people, the environment, technology, or infrastructure.

Creating, Shaping, Developing

Productivity is what this world needs on a daily basis. Your productivity in your work today goes a long way in contributing to shaping this world better, make it more habitable, richer and fulfilling to be in.

It, therefore, follows that without you working, this world is being robbed of something special. If you do not work, this world is being robbed of your contribution and input. Every time you are caught not working, you are taking away from this world something that you owe it.

Supported to work

The universe supports the existence of every human being so that in turn they can work and make it a better place. We have to realize that we are not here to pass by. We are not here to survive. We are not here just to pay bills and expire.

No. We are here to influence and impact. We are here to contribute, innovate, nurture, create, invent and bring to life our work that will positively impact society.

Let me ask you a question. What would become of the universe if all of us stopped working? You already know the answer. Here is the point though: Even when one of us stops working, especially as they were intended to work in the first place, the universe is affected thus.

So I challenge you to find something to put your hands on each waking day. I challenge you to work more than you are distracted.

Time To Roll Up Our Sleeves

I challenge you to work more than you procrastinate, work more than you are lazy, and work more than you are seeking comfort. You are needed here on earth for the very sole purpose of working.

We not only need to see your potential being developed to the full, but we also need to see the blessings that the earth receives because you worked. Of all the things that you should be garnering for in life, go for work.

Work is why you were created in the first place. You were equipped and placed here to impact, to influence and to contribute. The world needs you to work. Do it.
